{Edamame FJD $5}

We saw it fitting to try to a range of menu items and I can I say that sushi in Fiji has another player in the game.

Mamasake Japanese & Tapas Restaurant Fiji

{Sashimi Salmon with Avocado Mousse FJD $16}

My personal favourite the salmon sashimi flavours were stunning, the smooth avocado combined with salmon and finished off with a crisp touch. I could have ordered it over and over again.

Mamasake Japanese & Tapas Restaurant Fiji

{Hawaiian Poke Mama’s Style FJD $14}

Tuna, soy sesame dressing, cucumber, sea grapes, macadamia nuts, sprouts, nori slivers

Followed closely by the salmon was it’s tuna cousin. A perfectly balanced combination of flavours, light and refreshing, perfect for the warm Fiji climate.

Mamasake Japanese & Tapas Restaurant Fiji

{Chicken Karage FJD $12}

Chicken Karage AKA Amazing Chicken Nuggets. Delightful moist chicken morsels with avocado dipping sauce were truly delish.

Mamasake Japanese & Tapas Restaurant Fiji

{Chicken Teriyaki with Rice FJD $15}

The chicken teriyaki wasn’t my favourite item on the menu though a great choice for any non-seafood diner. It was great to have a selection of cold and hot dishes to share at our table.

Mamasake Japanese & Tapas Restaurant Fiji

{Mama’s Basic Salmon Sashimi FJD $16}

The name had me thinking this sashimi offering would be pretty standard and that couldn’t be further from the truth. It was such a joy to experience flavours that really worked and were unique to Mamasake. We’ll definitely be ordering this one again.

No item on the menu is more than FJD $22 representing great value for money. I can definitely see us returning as there’s plenty more on menu I’m keen to sample, including dessert that we simply couldn’t fit in.

Mamasake are offering 100 free sushi rolls each night until 14th June to help their talented local chefs practice their rolling technique. A selection of three different rolls will be offered each evening with a limit of 3 per table or 1 person at the sushi bar.  The perfect opportunity to try some Mamasake Sushi for yourself.
